Look, when you first watch this video of Swedish Freestyle Snowmobiler Daniel Bodin land a double backflip, it might feel underwhelming. The flips are long and bulky and there’s not really a ton of grace in the move, even if Bodin is the first person ever to pull it off. (A snowmobile weighs over 450 pounds, by the way.) However, when you watch Bodin’s friends stream out of the building, screaming and yelling and raising their arms in triumph, it all clicks. This might be the greatest day of Daniel Bodin’s life. This might be the greatest day of all his friends’ lives. Hell, it might be the greatest day of your life, too.

Bodin specializes in Freestyle Motocross (FMX) and the aforementioned Freestyle Snowmobile Cross, FSX. He’s won gold at the Winter X Games and he set the world record for the longest backflip on a snowmobile in 2008, when he launched his skids a fake-sounding 147 feet. Undoubtedly his friends made quite a ruckus at that one as well.

Some friends aren’t worth having, but friends like Bodin’s, who celebrate your wildest successes as if those achievements were their own? Never let them go, man. This video really isn’t about the double backflip, but rather, the reaction to the double backflip. The passionate hollering makes the stunt seem more impressive and exciting in retrospect. That’s the power of what a friend can do.
