(WBMA) - In St. Clair County, Alabama, a rally took place in support of a teenager cleared of aiding terrorist organizations.

Peyton Pruitt, 19, was found not guilty by reason of mental defect.

Pruitt will either be confined to a state hospital, placed in a mental-health group home, or be released to go home, possibly with stipulations.

Pruitt's attorney, James Gallini says the 19-year-old is undergoing another mental evaluation with Taylor Hardin Secure Mental Facility in Tuscaloosa.

Last year, Pruitt was arrested and charged with soliciting support for a terrorist act.

Gallini says they are working with St. Clair County Schools on ways to teach Pruitt proper internet use. And, that the system is working with Pruitt while he's in jail.

"We laid a foundation in working with (St. Clair County Schools), in establishing safety nets for (Pruitt), so that when he's released, he will be able to go back to school, in a special education setting," said Gallini.

Tony Pruitt is Peyton's father.

"Just them educating Peyton in jail is fun for Peyton, because he's a very social person, and he likes to be involved with things like that," Tony Pruitt aid.

Right now, Pruitt's defense team continues to push for an acquittal.
