Mike Bibby Makes Good on College Promise

After years of taking people to school on the hardwood, former Kings guard Mike Bibby has returned to the classroom to complete his postsecondary education.

Bibby originally attended the University of Arizona, leaving after his sophomore season to declare for the 1998 NBA Draft. Following a successful 14 year career in the Association, the 39-year-old has been coaching basketball in his home state of Arizona at his high school alma mater.

More recently, No. 10 has been set on finishing what he started nearly two decades ago. The former Kings guard did just that, graduating from University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in multidisciplinary studies from the College of Liberal Arts. 21 years after leading his Arizona Wildcats to an NCAA Championship, Bibby called his graduation a Mother’s Day gift, alluding to the promise he made to his mother to earn his college degree.
