Casspi: ‘Our Time to Shine’

After wrapping up a trip to Israel with some of his teammates and friends, Omri Casspi caught up with James Herbert of CBS Sports to discuss the group’s travels, the upcoming season and more.

On the trip to Israel
“[The trip was an] amazing experience for them obviously. But it all started basically that I wanted to bring my best friends, my colleagues, my teammates, DeMarcus, my brothers, my friends to see my side of the world,” Casspi told Herbert.

“Every time we travel, they invite me to their families and their houses and I never had the chance to pay [them] back.”

On re-signing with the Kings
“I like Sacramento. I feel like we have a good team. I felt I want to be a part of something that's growing and competing for the playoffs next year and being in the Playoffs, putting [us] in a position to win championships. And I didn't want to leave,” Casspi explained to CBS Sports.

“I trust our organization, I trust our coaches. We have the best center in the league. Obviously we're going in the right direction.”

On Kings fans
“We have real loyal fans. They love their team. I've been to other places, but with any of them I didn't have that connection, obviously,” Casspi said in the Q&A.

“So now is our time to shine. We have a new arena coming up next year. These fans have been through a lot. It's time to create a new environment, a new atmosphere and win.”
