CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A couple of Cincinnati police officers are being praised for going above and behind when a toddler needed help.

The little boy was found wandering the street at 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 2. He had no socks or shoes on. Officer Jamie Landrum bought him a coat, pants, shoes and fresh diapers, while they tried to figure out where his parents were.

In a photo, originally posted by an FOP Facebook page, Officer William Nastold is on the floor with the boy, trying to get him to take a nap.

At 5:30 a.m., police say Tanisha Caldwell arrived at the police station to pick up her son at the police station. According to the police report, she had alcohol on her breath and admitted to officers that she had been drinking.

Police say Caldwell told them the little boy had left the apartment by himself before but she had made no attempts to keep it from happening again.

Caldwell is charged with child endangering. She'll answer to the charge on Feb. 3.
