I’ve been a Pokémon fangirl since I was 11. So when the Pokémon GO app launched a few weeks ago, I immediately downloaded it—along with basically every other person who grew up in the ‘90s.

A quick refresher for those living under a rock Geodude: Pokémon GO is a free mobile app that uses your phone’s GPS and augmented reality to track 150 different pocket monsters that you can catch. Designated landmarks on the map are PokeStops (where you can restock necessary items) and gyms (where you can battle other trainers’ Pokémon). As you progress, you level up and your Pokémon get stronger.

Sounds pretty fun, right? Well, the game has caused serious pandemonium. If you’re as hooked on Pokémon GO as I am, you’ll definitely be able to relate to these struggles:

1. You Have a Mini-Breakdown Any Time the Game’s Servers Aren’t Working
Ugh. You hiked three miles to a park—which was supposed to be chock full of rare Pokémon—only to get an error message. Why does this keep happening?!

2. You’re Jealous Whenever One of Your Friends Catches a Pokémon You Don’t Have
It’s. So. Not. Fair. (True story: One of my friends actually texted me “I have Jigglypuff envy” when I told her I had caught one of the round, pink creatures on my way to work.)

3. You Currently Have No Social Life
After-work drinks? Beach date this weekend? Nope. You have one mission in life right now: to fill your Pokédex. Hey, at least you’re goal-oriented, right?

4. You're Completely Unaware of Your Surroundings
Pokémon GO requires you to have your eyes on your screen at all times—meaning you’ve walked into quite a few people and buildings (ouch!) while you’re out hunting.

5. Your Phone Battery Is Always *Thisclose* to Dying
The game drains your battery like no other app. You need to be near an outlet at all times, lest your phone shuts off while you’re in the middle of a gym battle (the horror!).

6. You Judge People Who Aren’t on Your Team
Once you hit level five, you can pick one of three teams (red, blue, or yellow) to compete on during gym battles. Now, you’ve extended those teams to real life—you wouldn’t be caught dead hanging out with someone who wasn’t on team blue.

7. You Don’t Have Time to Sleep
Why catch Zzz’s when you can catch Pokémon? Certain breeds are more likely to come out when the sun goes down, so you obsessively stalk your Facebook and Twitter feeds to see if there are any in your area—and then you’re on the prowl. (Priorities.)
