Season Ticket Member to Install First Seat

Installing over 17,000 seats inside of Golden 1 Center is no easy task. Construction crews have been hard at work preparing concrete stadia, securing seat stanchions - the metal arms that will support the seats , and installing seat backs throughout the arena.

Thursday, they’ll get a little help from a long-time season ticket member. Bobbi Marshall – season ticket member since 1985 – will join the team to install the first full seat at Golden 1 Center, her own.

Bobbi has been a basketball fan for as long as she can remember. Her basketball love affair began as a young girl when she was cheering from the bleachers for her Uncle Earl’s team in Portland, Indiana. When she moved west to attend UCLA, she spent countless hours watching her beloved Bruins play. As a high school teacher in Culver City, she’d follow her students from the classroom to the gym, sharing the same love for the game with them.

When the Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985, Bobbi and the Marshall family became instant fans. A close friend, Bob Cook, was a member of the original core ownership group and the Marshalls were proud to become supporters. Her first NBA game was the first ever in Sacramento – and she never looked back. Ever since that first season, Bobbi’s pride for her Kings has continued to grow. She’s been to 30 of 31 opening nights, vacations have been postponed and surgeries have been rescheduled – all to make sure Bobbi could be at the arena.

On Tuesday, the Ticket Sales and Service team surprised Bobbi with a commemorative seat and invited her to join the Golden 1 Center construction team to put the final touches on her seat – the first seat.
