Bay Area Entrepreneurs: Welcome to The Center
Yesterday, we were honored to join Nasdaq in launching the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center in San Francisco. The non-profit organization is designed to educate, innovate and connect aspiring and current entrepreneurs.
Since launching GE Ventures, we’ve held a strong commitment to mentorship and education for entrepreneurs through our open office hours, EDGE program and other educational events. Nasdaq shares this commitment and we look forward to further extending our expertise and resources to local entrepreneurs as a founding partner of The Center.
The Center’s opening event brought together a mix of local leaders and innovators – from California Lieutenant Governor, Gavin Newsom, to Golden State Warriors’ Center, Festus Ezel – who participated in the Nasdaq Closing Bell ceremony. It was followed by an evening celebration at The Center’s facility, which includes a full broadcast studio for training and media events, a pop-up store site where entrepreneurs can test products and ideas, an innovation hub for collaboration, and a living wall…because, hey – it’s San Francisco!

In his speech, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom described San Francisco as “a city of dreamers, of doers, of entrepreneurs and innovators. A city that at its best, prides itself on being on the leading and cutting edge of new ideas.”
We couldn’t agree more, and we look forward to what The Center will bring to this city’s future entrepreneurs.
