A fitness model from Sweden with 429,000 Instagram followers says she didn’t always look as fit as she does now. At her heaviest, Asa English was 154 pounds thanks to a regular diet of processed foods and alcohol.

She tells The Sun she eventually decided to change her lifestyle after she saw an unflattering photo of herself in a bathing suit. So, she stopped eating junk food, started working out, and lost 56 pounds. (Here are 9 other jaw-dropping transformations that you have to see to believe.)

Now, she regularly posts photos and videos on social media of her workouts and meals with fans, as well as shots of her fit body under the name JellyDevote.

English tells the Sun that she “thought I looked horrible” in her lifestyle-changing bikini photo and “almost didn’t recognize myself.” Her grandmother also pointed out that she’d gained a lot of weight. “When your grandma that always wants to feed you with loads of food, thinks you’ve got big—that hurts,” she says. “I wasn’t happy; that’s why I chose to start working out.”

English says she started to put on “lots of weight” in her twenties, would never cook, and only ate fast food or prepared meals. “I have no idea how much I ate and I never went to the gym whatsoever,” she says, adding that she was “very unhealthy.” (This is how you can lose weight without starving yourself.)

Now, English cooks her own food to make sure she’s eating healthy, doesn’t drink alcohol, and goes to the gym regularly. “I am lighter and happy and healthy,” she says.

She also runs a blog, Jelly Devote, where she encourages people to make the same changes, and sells her own diet and exercise plans.

“I get to inspire and help others to be the best version of themselves,” English says. “And thanks to this job I can travel the world and I have experienced and grown so much from this experience.”
