The only thing that comes close to replicating Conor McGregor's belligerent attitude towards anything and everything he encounters is a grizzly bear ravenously looking for food after months of hibernation. For evidence, please reference the months leading up to his fight against Floyd Mayweather, which was chockfull of over-the-edge trash talking.

The man has no idea what a filter is, and he's just as ready to fight outside the octagon as he is inside.

This time, however, even McGregor may have outdone himself. He's now egging on the public into believing a rumor that the Irish mob is after him, something that, if it turns out to be true, is well beyond the scope of recklessness, and, if not, just goes to show how much McGregor loves to make a spectacle of himself.

Earlier this week, The Independent reported that a "well-known Irish celebrity" assaulted a guy with close ties to convicted drug dealer Graham Whelan, a top henchman for the Kinahan gang, one of the biggest and most dangerous gangs in Ireland. Soon after, media outlets began circulating the stories suggesting that McGregor was said Irish celebrity, and, in perfect 'Notorious' fashion, the MMA fighter posted an Instagram photo that served as a bucket of gasoline to fuel the gossip.

McGregor captioned the photo "The celebrity," which seems like a clear push to identify himself as one of the central figures in the incident.

Of course, the Irishman whose trash-talking knows no bounds didn't stop there. We're talking about the guy who wears literal "f**k you" suits. McGregor showed up to an Irish courthouse yesterday for a hearing about a speeding ticket, and on the way out, reporters asked him about the Irish mob rumors. "Come and get me!" he said after stepping into his illegally-parked car. Then he sped away.

It's still unclear whether or not McGregor is the man involved (although The Independent article did later refer to the mystery celebrity as a "sports star."), so take the rumor with a grain of salt. However, if the crazy rumors turn out to be true, McGregor's reaction is shockingly aggressive, even for him. Taking on the mob? It makes makes his recent UFC 219 ban, a result of him punching a ref at a UFC fight he wasn't even participating in, look pretty chill.
