Destin Commons to be closed on Thanksgiving Day

DESTIN, Fla. (WEAR) — Plan your early Black Friday shopping accordingly because Destin Commons has made a big announcement.

They're saying that all stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, with stores re-opening at 6 a.m. on Black Friday

"We think it will be important for the 1,000 plus store associates and management staff to be able to spend the day at home with family and loved ones on Thanksgiving day," said Destin Commons' General Manager Bob Perry. "This will probably be a first for many of our retail employees. Black Friday will actually be Black Friday for us."

Destin Commons is the first to make this type of announcement in Northwest Florida, with over 90 stores at its location.

America's largest shopping mall, Mall of America in Minnesota, recently announced they will be closed on Thanksgiving and other stores have followed suit in the trend.

Destin Commons is at the corner of U.S. Highway 98 and the Mid-Bay Bridge Road.
