In high school, I was a competitive cheerleader and ate fairly healthy most days. But when I got to college, fast food (especially fries) were my quick fix when I was hungry and didn't want to make anything.
If I craved an unhealthy food, like cheese fries, I never held off. I figured that I would go to the gym and exercise it off. I typically worked out two or three days a week, jumping on the elliptical for 45 minutes followed by strength exercises on weight machines. I felt like I was balanced, but I started to gain weight.
