It’s one thing to tap out of a front squat because you’ve reached your strength limit.

It’s another thing if you have to bail because your wrists hurt.

“The pain is due to a lack of mobility in the joints,” explains Men’s Health Fitness Director BJ Gaddour. “Your wrists can’t get in the proper position. You may have the same problem during pushups, too.”

The solution is simple: Spend two to five minutes every week loosening your wrists with the drills shown in the video above.

They flex, extend, and rotate your wrists, hitting them from every direction. You’ll instantly feel an enhanced range of motion, says Gaddour.
