  1. I am excited to see the release of the Cultural Guide! This is something that I wish I had when I moved to Boston. I look forward to seeing how it expands in the future.

  2. A step in the right direction! However:

What about the LGBTQ+ Resource Center that has been frozen indefinitely, which the LGBTQ+ Task Force concluded was necessary to supporting LGBTQ+ community members at BU? What about an LGBTQ+ alumni network? What about mandatory racial and LGBTQ+ sensitivity training for all faculty & staff?

  3. How does adding resources to this website work if an organization isn’t specifically dedicated to that area of community? For example, how does a yoga studio or church or club prove that they’re queer/POC inclusive if their central focus is not serving those communities? I’ve already seen “resources” in which I have had negative experiences. I am concerned that orgs or businesses will apply and just add on as many tags as possible to sound PC, but not actually do anything to support those communities aside from just tolerating them.

    1. Entries are submitted by members of the BU community (a BU email address is required to submit). Organizations do not apply to be listed. And, the individuals who have made the recommendation choose which tags they believe are appropriate.
