Double the sweat, double the gains: People who work out with a partner they feel comfortable with are more energetic and happier than those who work out alone, report Santa Clara University scientists.

And the better you feel going into a workout, the better you’ll perform. That’s what makes you keep coming back for more.

So find a partner—a buddy, a sibling, your wife—for this Perfect 10s Swolemate Workout from Men’s Health Next Top Trainer Andy Speer.

How to Do It
Partner 1 does 10 reps of the burpee. At the same time, Partner 2 does as many reps as possible of a core movement—like the V-up or abs tuck—until Partner 1 finishes his or her last rep.

Then switch, so Partner 2 does 10 reps of the burpee and Partner 1 does a core exercise. That’s 1 round. Do 5 to 10 total rounds.

Watch  Speer and his fiancé Christina Jensen perform the routine in the video above. They’ll also show you various abs exercises and burpee variations that you can sub into the workout.
