Kim Kardashian has always been vocal about wanting her kids to have more siblings, and on Monday, that wish came true. Kim, 37, and hubby Kanye West, 40, welcomed the newest member of the big family, a baby girl, via surrogate, Kim revealed in a tweet Tuesday morning. This is Kimye's third child after North, 4, and Saint, 2.

In a post on her website, Kim says the couple's baby was born on January 15 at 12:45 a.m., weighing seven pounds, six ounces. Kim followed up with a heartfelt message to fans: "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister."

Then, on Friday, Kim and Kanye finally gave fans what they'd been waiting for: a name. On Kim's website, they announced that they'd named their new daughter Chicago West.

Kim revealed in September that she and Kanye were expecting via surrogate. They decided to go that route after Kim suffered from placenta accreta (a scary condition in which the placenta doesn't leave the uterus right after birth, which can cause life-threatening bleeding) with both previous pregnancies. She also previously lost an embryo while trying IVF.

On an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim opened up to Kourtney about how hard it was to choose a surrogate. "Getting a surrogate and finding someone that you really trust really is so much more difficult of a situation than you could really imagine,” Kim said. “You have to, like, make sure that their lifestyle is healthy and they have to go through psychological testing, and it was maybe a year before we finalized our current situation."

Despite the challenges, Kim said she was happy with their choice. She spoke about her baby shower on the Ellen Degeneres Show in November, and how North was preparing for baby.

"I thought, 'You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want her to feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it,'” said Kardashian. “So people brought toys and gifts and she was opening them all up the next day. [North] said, 'Mom, since baby sister's not here, I think I need all of the toys in my room and I'll play with them and just make sure they're all okay for baby sister.'"
