Back with a lead.

Soaps.com has great news for fans of “The Young and the Restless” alum Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters), as he has announced his return to CBS primetime series, “Criminal Minds.” According to the network, Moore is set to reprise his role of Derek Morgan as a guest star in the season 12 finale of the popular crime series. Moore announced he was leaving Criminal Minds in March 2016, citing his reasons as wanting to pursue different acting opportunities, to travel, and even learn another language, a move that left many fans upset about no longer seeing the actor on a regular basis.

In the “Criminal Minds” season finale, Moore’s alter ego, Morgan, returns to bring the BAU a lead in their case against a serial killer they call Mr. Scratch, who has caused problems for the team throughout season 12, even stalking team member Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), who had to be put into the witness protection program as a result.

After leaving the hit CBS series, Shemar Moore’s film The Bounce Back, a project in which he starred and executive produced, hit theatres in November 2016. More recently, the popular actor has been signed on to appear as Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson in an as yet untitled reboot of “S.W.A.T.” television series.

The “Criminal Minds” season finale is scheduled to air on Wednesday May 10 at 9:00 PM EST on CBS. Mark your calendars and check your local listings so as not to miss!
