Kourtney Kardashian recently posted a photo of her sons on Instagram, and it’s raising eyebrows.

In the pic, Kourtney’s oldest son Mason, who is 7, wrestles on the floor with his little brother, Reign. The 2-year-old is working a black and white Adidas tracksuit and braids in his hair. Kourtney simply wrote “brothers” in the caption—and people are not having it.

“Wait I thought Reign was a girl this whole time whaat?” one person wrote. “Omg I thought that was Penelope,” another said, referencing Kourtney’s daughter.

Others weren’t okay with the fact that Reign has long hair which, they seemed to imply, is reserved for girls. “Please cut his hair for HIS sake,” another said. "Cut that hair he's a BOY," added another. And one simply weighed in with this: “Braids no.”

Still others slammed Kourtney for what they said was an appropriation of black culture. “Dang I didn't think y'all would teach him to appropriate black culture this early,” one person wrote. “Boys wear braids all the time. At least black boys do… Not sure why Reign has braids tho,” another said.

Plenty of fans stood up for Kourtney, pointing out (among other things) that the long hair and braids may have been Reign’s idea. And, oh yeah, the fact that it’s really mean to go after a kid. “What kind of grown a— adult bullies a child?” one person wrote in the comments.

This isn’t the first time Kourtney has gotten heat on social media for her parenting choices. In March, she was blasted for an Instagram post in which she had her kids pose on the hood of a $122,000 Mercedes G-Wagon. She also caught flack for a photo that appeared to show Penelope wearing a lip ring.

Clearly people have thoughts when it comes to Kourtney and her parenting style. But these are her kids—not anyone else’s. And, last time we checked, anyone of any gender can wear their hair however they please.
