    Sara Rimer A journalist for more than three decades, Sara Rimer worked at the Miami Herald, Washington Post and, for 26 years, the New York Times, where she was the New England bureau chief, and a national reporter covering education, aging, immigration, and other social justice issues. Her stories on the death penalty’s inequities were nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and cited in the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision outlawing the execution of people with intellectual disabilities. Her journalism honors include Columbia University’s Meyer Berger award for in-depth human interest reporting. She holds a BA degree in American Studies from the University of Michigan. Profile

  1. As the parent of a T1 8-year old daughter, I was so excited to read about Ed Damiano’s innovation. I look forward to reading more about the iLet.

  2. Fantastic as 100% diabetic since 1987 pancreas was removed surgicaly transfered to feft groin as trial but failed after 2 years. I am thrilled about this break through. I more than likely will not see the full deployement but am happy for younger generations.

  4. Please don’t forget us in the UK! We seem to be 20 years behind you as far as technology goes. I’ve already lost one daughter to type 1 diabetes.My other
    daughter is 36 . Diabetic for 33 of those years.

  5. Thank you for your commitment to type 1 diabetes and helping to improve the lives of those who live with this disease and it’s numerous complications. Having a son with type 1, who works as a wilderness therapy guide and spends all his time in the outdoors, I am constantly hoping and praying for an easier way for him better control his diabetes and live a long and healthy life. For our son’s sake and the millions of others like them I hope your iLet will soon become available for them all.
