Embarking on your first romantic trip together as a couple is pretty exciting stuff (um, hotel sex, anyone?). But it can also be stressful enough to make you reconsider everything. (Not to scare you, or anything.) Since it's always best to be prepared, these are some of the pitfalls you might encounter on your first getaway with boo:

1. You Realize the Hotel He Picked Isn't Exactly the Ritz...or even Motel 6
You managed to keep that “cool girl” vibe going—until you check into your room. The comforter looks like it hasn't been washed since the '80s and there's one hand towel to share between the two of you.

2. You Almost Kill Him Because You Haven't Had Coffee Yet
Morning caffeine isn’t a priority for him, but you might commit homicide without it. If he offers to hit up the nearest coffee shop on your behalf, then OK, he's a keeper. (If not, we hear you can now find love using Pokemon Go...)

3. You. Are. So. Lost.
You'll see what your new guy is really made of when you find yourself in a Google Maps dead zone. Is he man enough to suck it up and pull into a gas station for help? Or will you be lost in the woods forever? (Probably the latter.)

4. You Keep It Clean, He Trashes the Room
There are those who neatly place their suitcases on the stands provided in a hotel room, and there are those whose suitcases explode all over the room the minute they arrive. Consider this a taste of what it might be like to live together...

5. You Can No Longer Pretend You Don't Poop
Yep, we said it. Sure, you could slip out to “get ice” and park it in the hotel lobby bathroom. Or, just say f*ck it and pack matches and some Poo-Pourri, just to be safe.

6. You Can No Longer Pretend That He Doesn't Poop
On the upside, this is when you get to find out if he’s the in-and-out type or the settle-in-with-a-magazine-for-two-hours-and-some-change type.

7.  You Wonder, "Is This Vacation or the Olympics?"
Ah, the classic dilemma: He wants to go rock climbing, then running, then fishing; you want to drink on the beach. (Or, the reverse.) You decide to compromise, only to find yourselves halfway up a mountain, not speaking to one another.

At least you have an incentive to book another trip soon so you can give the whole couple's vacation thing another try.
