This stretch pulls triple duty: It mobilizes your groin, builds muscle, and burns calories. 

It’s called the low lateral squat switch, and you can watch Men’s Health Fitness Director BJ Gaddour perform it in the video above.

Ease into the stretch by starting with only your bodyweight and moving slowly from side to side.

Fair warning: This is an aggressive stretch for most guys, says Gaddour. Only sink as deep into the squat as you can without pain. It may feel uncomfortable, but it should never hurt. 

Add a 10- to 15-pound dumbbell to build strength and muscle. The weight will act as a counter balance so you feel more steady. 

Or you can press the weight forward every time you switch sides to activate your chest, shoulders, and core.

To break a sweat, speed up the stretch. Do this for 30 to 60 seconds at a time to rev your heart rate.
