We don't want to stereotype, but when you're a hot famous person in Hollywood, you probably want to date other very attractive famous people in Hollywood (that's what we'd do at least). And because very, very ridiculously good-looking people have been dating other facially-blessed humans since forever, there are bound to be a few couples who you totally forgot were a thing back in the day.

With that in mind, we took a look back at some of the celeb couples you haven't heard of in a while. Eat your heart out, J.Lo and A. Rod.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

Jenny from the block recently got together with baseball player Alex Rodriguez from the Bronx, but remember when she was engaged to Ben Affleck? The couple became instant Hollywood royalty when they got together in 2002 but "Bennifer" split before their wedding in 2004. "I would do it all over again, I think. I really would. Even the relationship part," she said in a 2015 interview with HuffPo Live. "I just feel like everything is part of your story and your journey and is meant to be and helps you grow if you're willing to look at it, and I'm willing to look."

Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez

Speaking of A. Rod, before he got together with J.Lo, he and Cameron Diaz were an item. The pair dated for over a year and the split apparently rocked Cameron. "When I was going through a bit of a heartbreak a little while ago, I said to a friend, 'Wow, this really hurts!' And he said to me, 'That just shows you what your capacity for loving is,'" the actress said in a 2012 interview with InStyle. "I would rather have my heart broken a thousand times than never to love at all. I have so much love to give—I'm not empty of love, I'm full of love." (Get more life advice from Cameron Diaz here.)

Hilary Duff And Aaron Carter

It was one of the greatest teen love stories of our time, which is naturally why Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff's relationship went the way of most young love stories and fizzled. But apparently Carter has never gotten over his ex. After Duff split with her husband, hockey player Mike Comrie, in 2014, Carter took to Twitter to share the torch he still carries for Duff. "Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me..." he tweeted. "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think," he added. When Buzzfeed asked Hilz how she felt about his tweets, she said simply that it was kinda weird. "I don’t know how I feel. I mean, that was so long ago, and obviously I’m still married, and I have a baby."

Even before Ryan and Rachel McAdams (remember those glory days?) there was Ryan and Sandra. Yep. These two fell in love in 2002 while filming Murder by Numbers. "I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time," Gosling told the U.K. newspaper The Times back in 2011, referring to Rachel McAdams and Sandra Bullock. "I haven't met anybody who could top them,"

John Krasinski and Rashida Jones

Remember when John Krasinski and Rashida Jones dated? No, not on The Office—IRL. The couple broke up long before their on-air Office romance but remained friends. "It's not very often you can work with an ex-boyfriend so easily," Rashida told OK! back in 2008."He's fantastic; really skillful, honest and direct."

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds

Before the fairytale perfectness that is Ryan, Blake Lively, and their two little girls (seriously, that much amazing hair should not be allowed in one couple), Ryan was married to Scarlett Johansson. After their two-and-a-half year marriage ended in divorce, ScarJo alluded that competitiveness in the relationship may have contributed to the couple's demise. "[Marriage] takes a lot of work," she said in an interview with Parade. "It takes a man who’s not only confident in the love that you have for one another, but confident in what he has going on in his own career. He has to be in a field that’s completely different from yours."

Gwyneth Paltrow And Brad Pitt

Before there was Brangelina (RIP) and even before Brad and Jen (also RIP) the '90s power couple to be was Brad and Gwyn. The couple dated after meeting on the set of Seven in 1994 and actually got engaged before splitting a year later. In a 2015 interview with Howard Stern, the GOOP founder said, "I definitely fell in love with him. He was so gorgeous and sweet. I mean, he was Brad Pitt." The actress and lifestyle guru went on to say, she was too young for the relationship. "I was such a kid, I was 22 when we met. You can't make that decision when you're 22 years old. I wasn't ready, and he was too good for me," she added.
