'The Next Great American City'

In advance of being celebrated as an honoree of Tuesday's 24th Annual Salvation Army Community Luncheon, Kings President Chris Granger spoke with KFBK's Amy Lewis and Dan Mitchinson about the award, the state of the Kings and his new home town of Sacramento.

"There is a real momentum that is palpable in Sacramento," said Granger. "We can make this truly the next great American city."

In addition to crediting the Salvation Army for their tireless work in the region, the Kings President acknowledged their work with the team.

"I've just been blown away by the breadth and the diversity of work that they do. We've worked with them on anything from homeless programs, to after school and literacy programs. They are a treasure of an organization and it is very humbling to be recognized by them."

Granger also talked about the important summer for the Kings and the addition of VP of Basketball and Franchise Operations Vlade Divac.

"We are thrilled to have Vlade in the fold right now, he is such a leader."
