Developers are gearing up for an entirely new dimension of personalized community innovation at SAP TechEd 2017 in Las Vegas.

“We can’t emphasize enough the importance of community, and everything about SAP TechEd revolves around that theme,” said Ric Rogers, Global Events Lead for SAP TechEd. “This year’s event amps up the interactivity with a slew of opportunities for meaningful networking and shared experiences. We’ve opened up speaking slots for 20-minute Innovation Talks from the industry’s greatest thinkers, baked in expert advice any way people want it, and have built the coolest Community Clubhouse yet.”

Super-personalized guidance

The geniuses behind this premiere innovation event have replaced the garden variety information booth with a Concierge Desk staffed by SAP Solution Engineers. These experts will help developers immediately find out the information they need, providing fast answers to quick questions, as well as pointing them in the right direction, depending on what they’re looking for. This includes where to get details on the latest announcements made that week.
“Experts at the Concierge Desk may be able to answer someone’s questions themselves,” said Rogers, “If not, they’ll connect people to the best source of information, whether it’s in our revamped demo pods on the show floor, or scheduling one-on-one conversations with the right experts in the Solution Center or Design Thinking area.”

Developers can book 30-minute personal appointments with experts in the Solution Center. For longer conversations around SAP Leonardo, they can schedule 90-minute one-on-ones with consultants in the nearby Design Thinking space. Best of all, attendees who preregister can schedule meetings before the event, in addition to on-the-fly that week.

According to Charlie Shin, Global Lead, DEP Solution Hubs at SAP, this year’s Solution Center features a wider variety of the hottest topics including Big Data, Analytics, Database and Data Management, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Leonardo, User Experience and Design Thinking. The redesigned format reflects SAP’s burgeoning innovation portfolio.
“Customers typically have hybrid cloud environments often from different vendors, and what they really want to know is how they can tie it all together for faster innovation. They don’t have time to wander around and figure out who to talk with,” said Shin. “We are providing super-personalized guidance they need, with direct access to experts who can talk about the broader scope of solutions to spark ideation that innovates new processes and solves real business problems.”

Enter the Community Clubhouse MeetUp Scene

Participants can immerse themselves in the vast possibilities of disruptive ideas in machine learning, AI, blockchain and more -- by signing up for Next-Gen Clubs MeetUps taking place on stage within the Community Clubhouse. They can hang out with like-minded innovators in the adjacent lounge area, and also connect with others virtually and in-person at MeetUps taking place in SAP Leonardo Centers worldwide throughout the year. I don’t have room for the complete agenda of mind-blowing topics, but here’s a sampling: Science Fiction Thinking, Robotics, Drones, Exponential Thinking, and Purpose Driven Innovation Thinking.

Designing software innovations is at once deeply personal and universal, making the SAP TechEd community a special place to make valuable connections. I hope to see you there!
