Interior Inspiration For Children’s Bedrooms

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of styling your child’s bedroom around the latest superhero or cartoon character, but children grow out of trends so quickly. So how can you style your child’s bedroom to stand the test of time?

Redrow Homes’ interior design manager Emma Brindley, who skillfully styles all of Redrow’s show homes, is an expert at creating aspirational children’s bedrooms and says that incorporating a child’s individuality into the design will ensure it never goes out of fashion.

Emma says: “Think about your child’s personality, their hobbies and their loves and make sure this is reflected in their room, keeping it entertaining and educational too.

“Make a feature wall by framing their favourite posters or drawings, or why not have shelves over the bed or on the sideboard with some of their favourite books on display.

“Being clever with a choice of one light colour on every wall will create space – firm favourites are dusky pale pink and a light boathouse blue – and follow this through with your carpet selection too, it should be light again and with no patterns.”

So if you’re about to move into your new house and are looking for inspiration to make sure your child feels right at home from day one, Emma’s guide has all the style inspiration you need…
