The best part of masturbating is you can have sex with anyone, any style, and nobody will ever know. It’s your little secret.

Unless you reveal your deepest, darkest fantasies to a bunch of sex researchers, like more than 1,500 Canadian adults recently did.

In a 2015 study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, people rated how often they fantasized about certain sexual scenarios. Check out some of the stats listed below.

10 percent of men have fantasized about cross-dressing

64 percent of men have fantasized about being jerked off by an acquaintance

48 percent of men have fantasized about touching a total stranger in a public place, like a subway

10 percent of men have fantasized about a partner peeing on them

9 percent of men have fantasized about peeing on their partner

16 percent of men have fantasized about watching two men make love, even though only 12 percent identified as gay or bisexual

29 percent of men have fantasized about being ejaculated on

30 percent of men have fantasized about being forced to have sex

52 percent of men have fantasized about having a relationship with a woman “with very small breasts

28 percent of men have fantasized about having sex with a non-sexual object

This doesn’t mean a lot of guys actually want to be tinkled on while wearing stilettos, though.

While the women you’d want to have sex with in real life meet certain personal standards—i.e. looks, hygiene, personality—the objects and scenarios of your fantasies don’t have any constraints, says study author Christian Joyal, Ph.D.

Separate research from the University of Vermont shows that one of the key aspects of a sexual fantasy is that it includes stuff (or people) you would never do in real life.

Still, there needs to be some degree of reality. Joyal’s study found that most men favor fantasies that involve acquaintances or women they know in the real world, as opposed to celebrities or fictional characters.

The fact that your sex scenario could theoretically happen—even if you wouldn’t want it to—is a big turn-on for many guys, says Joyal.

That’s why, even if your own fantasies may be much tamer than those in the list above, you’ll still conjure up random real-world people when you masturbate: your buddy’s sister, the HR rep who sits three cubicles down, or your seventh grade teacher.

Most of the time, if you’re in a relationship already, this is probably just your mind being active—not some secret lust struggling to break free, says Men’s Health Sex Professor Debby Herbenick, Ph.D.
