The second quarter of 2017 saw the most new home starts – nearly 3,000 – in the Tampa Bay area since 2006. Overall, construction on nearly 10,000 new homes started in the area in the past year.
South Hillsborough County is responsible for roughly one-third of the area’s new home construction, and momentum continues to grow. Home values there increased by 7% in the past year, and an additional 2.3% rise is expected in the coming year.
Homebuilder Lennar is contributing significantly to the area’s growth, building homes in 30+ south Hillsborough communities, including three new Riverview developments.
